The Beauty of my Wife (the Beginning)

My wife. What can I say about her other than she is amazing.

I first truly met her at church in Colorado. She walked up to me in the middle of the parking lot before church started that night and asked me if I would take her sister to the dance (Prom Alternative at our church, couldn't tell you the date of the dance to save my life)I have been told it was in May.

Years would go by and I'd see her from time to time in the most random of places. Emissions checks, grocery store. Like I said random. Then down the road I went through a ugly divorce and my ex-wife posted something about something, I don't remember or care. Anyways, she called to see how I was doing and we talked. From time to time for another couple months we'd talk but it wasn't until she came home from college one weekend and we went to dinner that I thought anything about her being more than a friend that I needed. From that time on, I must have asked her out half a dozen times and she said no. She had no desire dating anyone that was joining the Marines or one that had a kid. But she kept hanging out. She'd come over after we both got off work and we'd watch movies. In her words, my movie education. Apparently I was missing a few movies in my lifetime that I needed to see. She tells me that there was one night that we were texting and I asked her to come over and watch a movie, She had been telling me that I needed to watch a movie but for some reason we had yet to watch it. Well I didn't know that she was already in bed and in her pjs. She told me later that it was at this point that she decided that she could start to have feelings for me. She got dressed and came over. She didn't last 30 mins into the movie before she feel asleep on my shoulder. Good movie, but besides the point.

We would follow this ritual of watching movies for a couple weeks before it was time for me to go to boot camp. I left for boot camp. It sucked. But what I didn't know was that she was coming to my graduation. I thought she wasn't due to the fact that she was in a car accident and also because it was around the time of her mom's birthday. Well she was there at family day and I will never forget it. We had walked to the car to get my phone so I could turn it back on and call my brothers. Well as I was on the phone she comes walking up and to that point my jaw had never hurt so much from hitting the ground so hard. She was beautiful. I could barely believe that she was there. Her smile made that day even more brighter than it was in San Diego.

To this day, her smile still makes my day. She is a wonderful and beautiful woman. I will finish this story later on.
